VOLUNTEERS WANTED! Helpers of all ages welcome, no experience necessary. RSVP (tomlinda.kahl@gmail.com) so we know how many to expect (but if you are seeing this same-day, please join us anyway!)

Do you love to garden, and enjoy volunteering while meeting others in your community? The Hartford Garden Friends need your help! Coffee and treats will be available for volunteers (will it be donuts? cookies? time will tell.)
Goals: (Many hands make light work!)
· Finish digging out the residual turf-grass roots
· Add new soil
· Turn over the new soil
· Plant new ornamental garden grasses which are shorter and won’t mask the geese
Recommended: Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear/gardening gloves. Bring water to drink and a granola bar if you tend to get hungry
Those who have shovels, garden tools, or 5 Gallon Buckets, or any other useful items are encouraged to bring them!

May Plant Sale
The Hartford Garden Friends is holding a plant sale to support the efforts and supplies for over 15 gardens in the villages of Hartford. The sale will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 9 am to 1 pm. We will be selling perennial plants, herbs and annual hanging baskets perfect for Mother’s Day. This sale will be in coordination with the Hartford Tree Board’s annual Tree and Shrub Sale at Hartford Town Hall.

Environmental Stewardship Mix and Mingle at Bugbee Senior Center
This event has passed but Carol and Martha spend the evening representing Hartford Garden Friends at the Environmental Stewardship Mix and Mingle! This networking event is open to the public and put on yearly by the Hartford Conservation Commission. The event serves as an opportunity for people to learn about the work of several local non-profits, committees and similar community groups that are channeling a positive impact on our local environment.
